Brescia Castle is a medieval fort standing on top of Cidneo hill, just a stone’s throw from the historical centre of the city. Around the castle walls are a maze of small lanes and gardens bathed in mystery, with imposing structures like the fourth century Mastio and the Torrione, and unique views over the rooftops of the old city, the slopes of the Ronchi hills and the vast plain. Not to be missed is the Museo delle Armi “Luigi Marzoli”, designed by Carlo Scarpa, which contains one of the most important European collections of antique armour and weapons.
